The PeaceTones Initiative and InternetBar.org - The PeaceTones Initiative is an e-commerce project being put together by Internet Bar (IBO), Subway Records, Openworld, ODRWorld and others. The Initiative will market music created by musicians in frontier or developing countries as ringtones, MP3s and complete albums. IBO will ensure that the proceeds from these sales go directly to the musicians and/or their cooperatives, and will create and legally protect revenues from these measures for communities that need it most.  PeaceTones Initiative is an effort to use online commerce to fight poverty. This program creates a unique opportunity for IBO to address the issues of creating economic opportunities, protecting intellectual property rights across borders, testing the application of different ODR systems, and translating digital revenues into usable capital for participants around the world. In addition, IBO and others are spearheading a Cyberlaw Initiative for Equity and Economic Growth to offer up to a dozen microscholarships to students and musicians around the world who qualify for IBO’s PeaceTones Initiative.
